My ...Oh what memories that Bluebird brings to mind! My parents lived in Bloomfield, NM not far from Cortez, CO. Mom always had Bluebird flour sacks in her kitchen. They were the perfect weight for getting damp and laying over her rising bread dough. They made good tea towels as well. They were the perfect size for making a doll mattress for little cradles and a pillow for my two year old son. He is 16 now and still has that old pillow. (Shhh! Don't tell!) When Dad passed away and Mom sold the house, she gave each of us kids a stack of flour sacks as little memories of her kitchen. I have been meaning to do something with mine for a long time now. Thanks for giving me the push I needed!

You can find Bluebird flour all over that region and if you pass through Cortez, which is near Mesa Verde National Monument, I believe you can buy the sacks right at the mill. I have also seen them on EBay but they are priced outrageously!Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04528210954073298874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-958602628286396737.post-90017386265985641042012-04-30T21:54:18.139-06:002012-04-30T21:54:18.139-06:00Hi, when I saw this at Coastal Charm link party I ...Hi, when I saw this at Coastal Charm link party I had to hop over. It made me smile to see the exact flour sack I just purchased at a gas station, (yes, I said gas station) we stopped at while vacationing in AZ. I have such a bird fetish that I instantly fell in love with the blue bird. When I told hubby I wanted it he said, "Why, are you going to make tortillas? I said no, I want to make a pillow. lol! Your sacks are all sweet and I love the pillow. I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday.
