With 6 children, I'm sure she had chicken quite often. I love the story about your mother. Poor thing that's an awful job to have to do. My mom's brothers and sis...What a sweet story. My mom's brothers and sisters nicknamed her "Hendie", so she had lots of chickens in her kitchen too. I think that's why I've been drawn to them through the years. One of my nieces has her pieces now in her own kitchen.
