You all know of my obsession with 19th century Aesthetic period brown transferware. Well, I've had my eye on this little tureen for way over two years at a local antique mall. I've visited it many, many times always thinking it was way too much money! During a period of about two months the tureen was missing, but then it magically reappeared.
I'm on Social Security so was eligible to receive the government's gift (?) of $250 stimulus money. I decided that when the check arrived, I would do my part to stimulate the economy by buying the tureen! Isn't it a beauty?

Lovely soup tureen. I hope you fill it with some hearty soups.
Soup tureens always remind of Autumn, my fsvorite season.
Enjoy it!
We're still waiting for our check. Rats.
I bet your heart stopped when the tureen disappeared...I had that happen one year when I bought my snowman platter and mugs. As it turned out, the owner of the shop brought it home for a party. I asked for a discount since it was "used". I'm a little bit younger than you guys, so I don't receive a stimulus check. It's supposed to be in my paycheck. Funny, I haven't noticed it though. I'm glad that you got it - it is a lovely piece. ~ Robyn
The tureen is gorgeous! I love the delicate pattern!

OMG Sally, now I know what this stuff is, Hi I am Deb from Australia, my mother (who would was born in 1917) has now passed, gave me a gravy boat and large serving platter, with this pattern on it, It belonged to her mother before her, she told me to take it long before she was infirmed, as she was frightened her sister lol would grab it, and she diddnt want her to have it lol, I treasure it, but never really knew what it was, I will now go and do some research on it. Oh and I have just spent the past hour or so reading through your blog, it is fabulous. Cheers Debra (a very young 50 year old )
