A TOUCH OF AUTUMN

I don't do a lot of Fall decorating, but try to change out the front porch to welcome in the season.

 One of my favorite places to shop is a farm surplus yard.  These elevator grain bins came from my favorite yard in Rocky Ford, CO.  Bob mounted them on pallet wood, so I could fill them with the season's bounty!

And indoors, a patchwork pumpkin for a touch of autumn.

FARM SALVAGE MEETS AUTUMN ON OUR PORCH

 I usually hang something seasonal by the front door on our porch -- this year for Fall I went with something rustic.

On our last visit to the farm salvage yard (my favorite shopping mecca), I picked up some grain elevator scoops.  I had no idea what I was going to use them for -- just loved their shape and patina.

 Bob mounted two of them on a couple of old boards, and I filled them with a touch of autumn.

UNIQUE TOOL BOX AND A TOUCH OF FALL

This is another one of those 'shopping from the garage' posts.  This unique little tool box came from an estate sale a couple of years ago.  It is actually three boxes in one.

 It functions because of this unusual hinge.

 Opening the lid reveals the first box; then that box becomes the lid for the second box; and, finally, the second box becomes the lid for the third box.

 What a treasure -- they just don't make packaging like that anymore!

By the way, this is the only touch of Fall decorating I've done around here this year.  Just lazy, I guess, but I'm sure enjoying the cool weather!
