Susan at Between Naps on the Porch is hosting Tablescape Tuesday once again. Please check out her blog for a list of the most delicious tablescapes!
This past Sunday, we had our annual Thanksgiving dinner at our church with 40 tables hosted and decorated by the women of the church. I thought Tablescape Tuesday was a great opportunity to share some of them with you!
For my contribution this year I used my Johnson Bros. red transfer ware with my new turkey salad plates, also from Johnson Bros. The centerpiece was simple and inexpensive with the pilgrims from Hobby Lobby, the pumpkins from Dollar Tree, and the paisley scarf from Ross's.
I included my mother's Fostoria stemware and my great-grandmother's sterling silver.
My daughter decorated her table with Fall leaves, a quilted table runner, candles, her grandmother's Fostoria American, and my red Fostoria Argus ice tea glasses. Her silverware was a gift to her from her grandmother.
At the last minute, I was roped into doing a second table. Because of the time crunch, I used my everyday Blue Willow dishes and the red Fostoria Argus glasses. The centerpiece is a cornucopia using a red wooden bucket on its side. Going with the red, white, and blue theme, I included an antique Thanksgiving postcard showing a turkey with an American flag!
There was such a wide variety of creative tables; I've included some pictures of a few. I loved this turkey tureen centerpiece with four different Fall colors of Fiesta ware.
Look at this cute pilgrim couple.
Festive dishes in beautiful Fall colors!
Beautiful antique dishes with inspirational place cards!
This woman involved her granddaughter in making turkeys full of candy corn.
More pilgrims with a colorful tablecloth and centerpiece.
A black turkey centerpiece with a striking tablecloth!
Hope you enjoyed our church's Thanksgiving dinner as much as we did.
Thanks for stopping by,
Sally

ReplyDeleteSuch a fancy table for a church party, I love it!! I really like the other tables too. Each brings a little bit of the decorator's personality. It gives me good ideas. Setting a table is a weakness I have but I'd love to have the end effect be like these tables.
ReplyDeleteVery nice stuff. But I have to say that the use of the paisley scarf was brilliant...it went so well with the dishes and added such a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tour of table settings here. I like it! I love Johnson Bros. china. Was just looking at those proud turkey dishes yesterday...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea for a church to do!
ReplyDeleteEvery table looked so well done, but my very favorite is your Johnson Bros. red transferware & the gorgeous turkey plates. I have a set of "FAUX" Johnson Bros. dishes that I'm going to do a table with maybe next week...I sure wish I had the real thing!

Morning, Sally. Oh, these tables look so gorgeous, but I like yours the very best. I've seen those turkey dishes and thought how much I would enjoy them. I'm sure all at your church enjoyed viewing the tables and hopefully the luncheon yummies.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
I LOVE the eclecticness of the first table! That scarf is gorgeous! How very creative of you to add the turkey w/ flag postcard to tie in the red, white & blue colir scheme w/ Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all the tables from your church w/ us!
Oh those tables are so beautiful. Our church does a ladies Christmas tea, and has different ones decorate the tables. xo rachel
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! What great IDEAS. I have some blue Johns Bros plates.... Maybe I need the little turkey salad plates????? : )
ReplyDeleteI also really love the Blue Willow. Isn't awesome that they are your everyday dishes and you can dress them up like that?!
Thanks for sharing!
~Liz~
All the table settings are so pretty and different. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I think that with all the work we do to fix up our homes and tablescapes, we should invite others in to share it with. I always only do lunch...so much easier than dinner!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! Lovely, and the silver flatware is beautiful. Great settings from the women at your church.Deb
ReplyDeleteWhat talented ladies you have in your church. I loved your idea with the paisly scarf. I'll be using that idea some time. laurie
ReplyDeleteOkay, you and I have the same taste in china. I love Johnson Brothers--the red, the turkey, and the Blue Willow. Your tablescapes were the best! I think if I must choose, gosh that Blue Willow with the red and that turkey card...that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate the ladies at the table you decorated must have felt to be enjoying their meal using sterling silver.
ReplyDeleteI feel certain that all the tables we glimpsed through your eyes, were a blessing to all who attended your church dinner.
Hi Sally, Great tablescapes! All of them were fabulous! You have some crafty and creative ladies in your church, including yourself! Love your dishes! ~RHonda :)
