BLUE MONDAY

Sally at Smiling Sally is hosting Blue Monday once again. Please check out her blog for a list of participants in this week's show of blue wonders.

We had a great Easter weekend that included a three day visit from our son, Mike. We had not seen him since he returned from a 2-week trip with some of his students to Italy and Greece over spring break. On this trip he took over 1000 pictures, so a lot of time was spent checking those out and hearing his tales of travel!! Plus, he always brings back great presents for everyone
. And look what he brought back for me: a beautiful piece of blue Murano glass.

It is full of encased gold etching and little bubbles that catch the light.

I couldn't be any more thrilled. It is beautiful!!

Thanks for stopping by to see my new treasure.
Sally

  9. The glass is gorgeous, Sally!

I had to chuckle when you wrote about hiding the eggs inside. We've done that before too. We were very happy we used candy eggs one year, when we found a well hidden egg in July!!!

  11. Hello Sally...

Just read the sweet note that you left...I always enjoy our visits!!!

My friend, I'm so happy to hear that you and your family had a nice Easter...so glad that you got to visit with your son!!! Oooh, I would just love to see all of his photos too...Italy and Greece are both such beautiful countries! Does Mike teach high school or college level students? I bet that was quite an experience taking students overseas! Ohhh myyyy goodness, your blue Murrano glass is fabulous!!! They make the most beautiful glass on that little island! What a wonderful gift and surprise! Your son has exquisite taste! I can see how the bubbles and shape pick up the light...it's gorgeous!!! What a magnificent Blue Monday post...hmmm, do you think he planned that? wink! Hehe!!!

We had cool, drizzly weather all day yesterday...and yes, I'm thankful for that moisture! It was a really nice slow-soaking rain! Today, the sun is out and it's about 63 degrees...just beautiful! In fact, I have my back door open and I'm enjoying the fresh air!

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gift with us...it's lovely!!!
