THRIFT STORE SHOPPING

Suzanne at Colorado Lady
is hosting Vintage Thingies Thursday once again. Stop by her blog to check out all of the participants of this fun event.

The other day I was in The City to visit fellow blogger, Mary at Mary's Meanderings
while she was in the hospital recovering from a nasty, nasty rattlesnake bite.

I left the hospital so concerned and shocked by her condition, but something told me I needed to stop by the thrift store that Mary & I had shopped at previously together. Somehow, I just knew that Mary wanted me to stop. This is what I found.

Twenty-two pieces of Edwin Knowles China were just waiting for me to buy them at $8 for the set.

I'll forever think of them as my Mary dishes.

I'm so happy that Mary is now recovering at home. But she is home bound for awhile, so please stop by her blog and tell her hello to wish her well!

  1. These are beautiful...and what an amazing price. I just stopped and left a comment for Mary. I told her I had no idea Colorado had rattlesnakes, we have a place in the mountains, and I have never seen a snake there....now....I am a bit worried!

Love your dishes, they are beautiful.

  9. Oh My....your poor friend...I am terrified of snakes, that is why we moved from S. Florida, they used to come into the house...but a rattlesnake, that's horrible...What did it do to her and where was she when she got bit? But I did have to laugh about you knowing she would have wanted you to stop and shop...that was funny.....Maude's Twin sister is en-route....

  24. Oh Sally! What a buy you got on these dishes ! Aren't you glad you went to see your blogging friend so you could stop at ARC and find these! It was worth seeing me in such sad shape! ( I guess I really looked bad when I was on the respirator and asked Bill "just how many people looked at me when I was puffed up like a watermelon!?) he assured me not too many! Yea right!

I can't wait to see your Tablescape Thursday using these pretties!!

Sorry it took me so long to get over here. I think I had told you that my computer had gone kapoot about a week or so before the rattlesnake incident. I have been working at trying to get all my programs back on and finally got my Money program working which meant I had to spend the last 2 days imputing all our receipts and bills and reconciling check books. Let me give you a little advice- Don't try doing bookwork when you still have drugs working their way out of your system! It took me 3 hours to get the bank statement right!!!

Thank you for sending your friends my way to send me well wishes! I go to Dr tomorrow- hoping I have been so good that he will relax some of my restrictions! We need to get down to NM to pack up the rest of our house down there and close on the house!!!
oops sorry for the long letter!

    blessings
