MOSAIC MONDAY - DETAILS

Sometimes, for no apparent reason, I become dissatisfied with the interior design of my home. I want something different. To cure this feeling, I often just walk around the house and look at the details.
I think about what I like, what pleases my eye and my personal aesthetic.

Today, I took my camera as I walked around.

I like a variety of textures and patina. Rough versus smooth! Delicate versus chunky!

Fine versus primitive plus I need my favorite colors!

Shiny versus dull!

Light versus dark!

The feeling of discontent has passed. I love my home just the way it is.

Thanks to Mary of Little Red House
for hosting Mosaic Monday. Please check out her beautiful blog for more mosaics.

Hi Sally! What a great idea...especially with the camera. Sometimes I try to look at my house through a stranger's eyes to see if I need to change things...not easy when you have memories attached to so much that is there! Next time I'll try looking through the camera! Have a great week!...Debbie

What a great aray of colors and textures-- my favorite.

Also, great idea for any of us wanting to get over the blues of bordom (sp?) I always remind myself that a new season will be too swiftly upon us and I can rearrange and decorate then. :)

A fabulous way indeed, of getting past the feeling that you MUST REDECORATE. Wonder if that will work for me...

Sometimes all it takes is seeing your home through different eyes, to see all the wonderful things about it. Thanks so much for sharing your interior design with us at Mosaic Monday. :)

Sally what great pictures!! I love the way you grouped them and it makes me want to see more when you give us just a hint or peek of something sweet!!

Thank you so much for your suggestion of doing something with the back of my little cabinet- I think you were the first to suggest it and I think it was a great idea!

Can't wait to see your new project you are working on!! (and yes in person!) we have guest coming this week then some more next week then off to my high school reunion- hoping maybe late Sept. we can get together. What does your schedule look like?

Went to feed my bees this morning- We did some switching of the frames around as they like to build up instead of out and there are still 4 frames in bottom box they have not touched. I sprayed them (the bare frames)with sugar water to help and then we switched frames from top box to bottom box to get that bottom box ready for winter. I sure do hope I have not confused them too much!!

I'm constantly changing things around, but I love what I have. Shopping the house is so much fun! I love your things too. You know, I never thought of texture I don't think until I became a gardener. Suddenly became important.
