TABLE TOP TUESDAY

I'm not a decorator. I'm an accumulator; a collector! I enjoy having things around that have meaning to us.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I was able to buy at auction my great-aunt's rolling pin. Below is my small collection of family rolling pins - my two grandmothers', my mother's; and now, my great-aunt's. Ah, the memories of those great pies made with those four rolling pins!!!!

They fit right in with my collection of green bowls and pitchers - a reminder of my grandmothers' kitchens.

The Hoosier cabinet belonged to a friend of Bob's family, but we have had it for many years moving it from house to house. I finally have a kitchen big enough to showcase it.
And, that is how table tops are decorated around the Salmagundi household, they are accumulated!
I am linking to Marty's (at A Stroll Thru Life) fun Tuesday party where everyone shows off their table tops. Check it out.

Great rolling pins...can you imagine how many pies those things have made....and I love the Hoosier cabinet....My uncle about 40 years ago gave us his when he was moving to Florida....The Boss took the trouble to get it all the way home then refused to refinish it....We told it for cheap to an artist in town and she did the most amazing art work on it...I was glad in a way that she made it look so beautiful....But I still would have loved to have kept it...We did keep and refinish his old oak icebox...it still sits in our great room after all these years and it's something I will never get rid of....Did you enjoy your weekend with Michael?.....

I have an old crock just like that sitting in my kitchen with old rolling pins in it. I wish I had the Hoosier cabinet to go along with it!
It looks wonderful.
Blessings,
Marcia

I see a green handled rolling pin in your collection just like the one I have that was my grandmother's. I'm like you...my most precious things are those from my family. Thanks for sharing. ♥♪

I have a TON of those huge pottery crocks! I live in the Lancaster, PA area and they are "the thing" to have around here. I love the rolling pins too... what a great use for the crock. Thanks for the idea!

My decor is also accumulated, and I think it's the best kind of decor. What a beautiful old Hoosier, and how great that you have all of those family rolling pins! Those colored handles are so great! I think you may be a decorator, and you just don't know it. laurie

Your hoosier is just gorgeous. I have one too but it is in the guest bedroom. I wish I could have it in the kitchen. Your crocks are wonderful. I love old crocks and our rolling pins, they are such fabulous treasures and heirlooms. I have my mom's and I still use it. The green bowl and pitchers are so pretty. I remember an Aunt having a bowl like that. Sure wish I had it. I love your displays. They are so pretty and have such special memories. Thanks for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

Good Morning Sally...

I was so happy to see you link up with Marty's Table Top Tuesday party, my friend! What a great post...what a grand table top...I think that you have decorated it beautifully...whether it was just accumilated or not! hehe! Sally, your Hoosier cabinet is fabulous!!! I'm sooo happy that you can use it in your newly remodeled kitchen, my friend! It's a fabulous piece and definitely deserves to be showcased!!! Love how you displayed your great collection of family rolling pins in the old crock! Ohhh...and all that beautiful greenware...love it! You know, I have a pitcher just like yours...the small green one! Mine stands about 6 or 7" tall. I found it at a yard sale a few years back and just love it! I don't know anything about that kind of pottery...do you?

Well Dearheart, thank you so much for sharing this fabulous Hoosier cabinet and all of your pretties with us today! I really enjoyed seeing them!!!

Love ya,
Chari

PS...it's cold and rainy at our place today. The rain is supposed to turn to snow sometime today. YUK! I am sooo ready for Spring!!!
