JULY 4TH WEEKEND

My family thinks there is nothing better than Strawberry Shortcake with homemade biscuits.
Personally, you can give me chocolate and nuts any day!

Do you have a preference?

I'm linking up with Michael at Designs by Gollum
for Foodie Friday

and

Donna at Funky Junk Interiors
for Saturday Nite Special (cooking section).

Have a glorious 4th of July weekend.

I'd opt for the strawberries, too. Their season just isn't long enough for me.

See's chocolates will take care of me, any day.

Happy & safe 4th.

Hi Sally...

So happy to get a note from you, my friend! It was great hearing from you! Wow...sounds like you have been keeping really busy this summer...other than being down with the summer crud! Are you feeling better now? I hope that my note finds you and your sweet family well! I was just wondering how Mike is doing? Bet he will be an expert in orchard husbandry by the time he gets home! Hehe! I hope that that he is really enjoying his time abroad!!!

I viewed your post about your grandkids and making sock monkies! I love it...and they turned out absolutely adorable! You know that is a sweet "Grandma memory" that the kids will always have!!! I didn't know that you had a speaking engagement! Was wondering where you spoke? How did it go, Girlfriend? Listen to me...I sound like a question box! Hehe!

Anyway, on to today's post! You know...your strawberry shortcake looks and sounds absolutely divine but I must admit that I'm a chocolate and nuts kind of gal too! Of course, sweets are my downfall...I have an insatiable sweet tooth...eeeks! Not good or very healthy, I'm afraid! Well sweet friend, was so nice hearing from you! I hope that you and your family have a Happy 4th of July!!! Take care and I'll talk with you later!

Love ya,
Chari

Thanks for stopping by, Sally. I know what you mean about getting tired when grandkids are over. I used to say that God is wise for not letting women our age get pregnant cause we wouldn't be able to handle the work anymore, lol...Christine

Hi Dear Sally....Hope your having a fun 4th of July...we just got back from the outlets...spent way too much money on shoes and sandals!!..Actually the Boss treated but I didn't need any more sandals...I would have to pick the chocolate and nuts....not a big fan of strawberries...now if they were peaches that is a whole other story......we are getting the best peaches out of S.C.

Unfortunately, I like chocolate and strawberries. I especially like chocolate dipped strawberries!

I would probably choose the strawberry shortcake especially since that is a homemade biscuit, yum!

Hope your 4th was happy!

I'll take some of both, if you'll place them on that gorgeous blue and white plate!

My family loves both. Native strawberries are only around for about 2 weeks in June, so after that we move on to more chocolate with nuts, without nuts, with bananas or PB. Chocolate is good just about any way!
