CHAIR METAMORPHOSIS

My husband, Bob, loves to find old, neglected furniture to restore. This is his latest metamorphosis -- a chair that had lost its rockers, then left outside to deteriorate. It was in his price range of $5.00.
He took it all apart to re glue everything, then made new rockers; and finally gave it a new finish similar to its Arts & Crafts roots.
Then, it was my job to make a new upholstered seat. Since our son is taking the chair for his study as a reading chair, I also made a pad for the back for additional comfort.

Check out the following blogs for super inspiration; and be sure to thank these ladies for hosting these fun parties:

You did an amazing job making that seat cushion and back for that chair! I wish I knew how to do stuff like that. I would've had to hire someone to do that. It looks like it is very comfortable now.

Lucky "Doc"! If he doesn't appreciate it, I could go right over and bring it home with me.♥♫

Sally you and hubby make such a great team! The chair looks so wonderful now!!

I have had the house full for 3 weeks straight between the boys and then my Mom being here for a week. Just took her back to Albuquerque yesterday- spent the night and came back tonight.

Both boys left before she arrived so the house outside is in stand still except for us pressure washing the paint off when we have time which isn't very much! We have 1 3/4 sides of the house pressure washed. It's getting almost to cold to do it but am hoping we can finish that part at least sometime soon.(Where does that time fly????)
