THIS, THAT, AND THE OTHER ----

A post of randomness --

The weather geniuses on local TV and on my smart phone tell me that we will have dry, sunshiny, and balmy (in the 60s) weather for the next six days.  We have had a rather long snap of cold, icy, snowy weather; so sunshine will be appreciated.  I'm encouraged that winter will return next week, however.  Guess I better take this opportunity to take my heavy coat to the cleaners!

Bob reminds me that it is two months until he and Wyatt plant the peas in the garden on St. Pat's Day.  That's a good thing as I only have about one cup of peas from last year's garden left in my freezer.  I'm saving those for the perfect chicken and biscuit casserole on a future, snowy evening.

After dropping my coat off at the cleaners today, I have the fun of picking up my favorite granddaughter, Caitlin, at the high school.  I love it when she needs a ride, and thinks of me.  As a busy senior, it is hard to fit in school work, a boyfriend, etc., etc., etc., and Grammy-time!  We still manage, however ---- and there is nothing better than to encapsulate a talkative teenager in a car, go to Sonic for something to drink, and get caught up on the news!
I'm going to miss her next year so much!!!!

You would think that after all of the Christmas goodies, I would be tired of sweets.  But, oh no, I think I'll make Turtle Cookie Bars this afternoon.
Turtle Cookie Bars
I spied the recipe on The Shabby Creek Cottage blog, and now I can't stop thinking about them.

What's another calorie (or two---) when the sun is shining?

I need those turtle cookie bars. . . Thanks for looking up my china pattern! There are so many. We have had the most cloudy grey days ever in ALbuquerque. Not the moisture so much. Just cloudy. We did get a couple of mornings with a dusting of snow though. Somehow the dusting made it seem even colder than a few inches! Weird! So sweet that you get some time with your girl!

Hi Dear Sally! Oh, I'm glad to hear you're have a bit of warmer weather. It's been below zero here and we're not used to weather like that! But I actually love it as love as I can keep my toes warm! Your granddaugher is so pretty and of course she wants to have 'grandma' time with you! :) Now you have my mouth watering for something sweet! :) Thank you for popping in to see me and your kind words.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Sally,

We have sooo much in common; I have 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. The youngest is 16 years old. I love spending time with them, and not nearly often enough, I "get" them.

As to sweets . . . now there's another thing we have in common. (sigh)

Happy Blue Monday!

Hi Sally, first time here and enjoyed reading
your blog. Love seeing all the vintage pieces you have and the family photo's.
I would love the have your recipe for
"the perfect chicken and biscuit casserole".
I am in MA and it's been freezing cold for about 3 weeks now...not looking forward to February. Always the coldest month around here.
