LONGING FOR PARIS IN THE SPRING

I'm joining in with Marty at A Stroll Thru Life
for Tabletop Tuesday.

Some people have Spring fever for their gardens, but I have Spring fever for Paris.

After taking my Easter stuff down today, I decided to get out some postcards that we had picked up from a kiosk along the Seine two years ago. They are copies of some lovely little watercolors of sights around Paris. To frame them temporarily, I decoupaged some mats with scrapbook paper holding them together with black elastic bands.

The picture above also shows every tourist's purchase - a replica of la tour Eiffel. And in the bottom right picture in the background is my Laduree box that contained those wonderful French macaroons.

So, for this Spring, this tabletop vignette will have to be my trip to Paris. However, I have plans to go to Germany and Paris in the Spring of 2011!!

Lovely watercolors and you did a fantastic job of framing them. They look wonderful, love the colors you used.

Perhaps you can add to your collection when you visit in 2011.

Mornin' Sally...

My friend, I thought of you as we passed by your place about 11:30pm last Tuesday coming home from Vegas. I think it was a little late to have "called on" you! Hehe! We had the wildest return trip home...ran into dirt storms in Flagstaff that closed down the interstate and then about 50mls. from home, we ran into a blizzard. The normal 12 hr trip (over the mountains) ended up taking us 17 hrs. We couldn't go through the mtns. with all the snow so we dropped way south and came through Arizona, New Mexico and up I-25 into Colorado. But all in all, we had a fabulous time...of course the highlight for me...was getting to meet Gloria!

How are you getting along, my friend? I was so happy to hear that your shoulder is doing so well...thank the Lord!!! Thank you so much for your prayers for our grandson Seth! Keep praying, my friend...the decisions will be difficult! The Dr. has talked about doing open heart surgery...she would have to cut through the heart to get to the effected area that is causing the irregular electrical impulses. A very serious surgery! I am trying so hard to trust the Lord for all of this!

Sally, wouldn't it be fabulous to be in Paris right now? You lucky lady...you will be next year! I can just imagine how beautiful all the gardens are...in bloom! I love all of your pretty Paris postcards...what a fabulous idea to frame and use them in a vignette! I have used scrapbook paper on framing mats before...it can really dress things up! I love how yours turned out!!! You know...I got out of Paris without buying a souvineer Eiffel! What was I thinking...hmmm, guess I wasn't! Hehe! What a lovely vignette, my friend!

Well Darlin', you take care and enjoy our nice weather for this weekend! Have you started any yard work? Russell said he was going to work in the yard this weekend...I'm anxious to see things cleaned up!

Love ya,
Chari
