IN WITH THE OLD, OUT WITH THE OLDER!

I have a new-to-me china cupboard. It fits the space perfectly, and holds almost all of my hand-painted china collection.

It has pretty details, all original. I've seen similar china cupboards around the blog world painted white and distressed, which I loved; but somehow this natural finish just seems to suit our personal aesthetic better.

The new cupboard replaced this older, Victorian era curved-glass cupboard which we have had for almost 20 years. Whereas it served us well, it had some unpleasant memories attached. It was time to replace it, so I could walk past it without bringing up those memories every time.

Sometimes, you just have to move on!

Sally what a pretty pretty cabinet you found! Was that at the Estate sale you have been helping with?

I got to go the Rosemount Museums Yard sale yesterday and we had to go into Pueblo to get painting supplies for painting our building. It was fun- found some things though nothing that blessed my socks off good.

Just got in from painting the building. We mixed oops paint 6 flat white and 4 other gallon oops paint that I had. Gosh I was so scared after it all had gotten mixed! In the bucket is looked terrible but came out a real pretty gold tan color which was what I was looking for!

It looks so much better but I am pooped de pooped!

Oooo, Sally! I love your olden cabinet! I love this style! Your other one was pretty but if it was bringing you sadness, you needed it gone! You have the most beautiful things ever!
Hope you're having a good weekend.

It's beautiful,Sally.

It looks to be from the same era as my mother's cabinet, we have in our dining room. Although I like the look of painted furniture, I don't think I would want to paint Mother's. The detail in wood and veneer would be lost.

Wow - I love the new cabinet. The legs are just gorgeous. I don't have gorgeous legs, so I look for them in furniture : ) Linda

O, I do like this, Sally. Your dishes look so pretty in it. I wouldn't paint it, either, if this is what you love.

I have 3 grandgirls that will turn 13 the first part of Oct.
13....such a magical age. I am racking my brain to come up with something special for their gifts...something that will make them remember 13 forever...maybe a silver charm...?
