It is Monday once again and time for Metamorphosis Monday hosted by Susan at
Between Naps on the Porch .
Today, I would like to take you to a farm equipment salvage yard. This is not your usual place to find home decor, but for the creative person it is a great place to find a bargain. As a child, when it was necessary for me to tag around with my Dad, we often had to take a trip to Muth's salvage yard. Not only do farmers work the land, they must also be mechanics to keep the equipment running; so it was always necessary to salvage parts. This is not the salvage yard of my youth, but it does belong to the son of the original Mr. Muth.

Today, I'm on the search for disc spacers to use for candle holders. Here are some likely candidates.
I finally decided on three different ones, and Bob loaded them (they are very heavy) into the back of the van. We found Richard (the young Mr. Muth), and he said I could have all of them for $4.00. After getting them home, Bob washed them with the hose, and sprayed them with an acrylic sealer. And there you have three candle holders!!!!

Hello Friend...
If this isn't just the coolest idea! What a grand idea...using old farm equipment for candleholders!!! I just love the old iron patina...and you've displayed them so beautifully on your pretty patchwork quilt!!! Sally, I just love this idea...oh my, I think I'm repeating myself! Hehe! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for some of these! They must be fairly good sized since those are pillar candles you're using? Love this Met Monday post, my friend!
So how is it going in your neck of the woods? I'm not sure how much rain that we got...it even rained on and off yesterday! We have little ponds in our driveway...notice I didn't say puddles...these are much bigger! hehe! We'll take the moisture though...so thankful for it! Today it's supposed to get up into the high 60's...I already have my windows opened and enjoying the fresh air! They're forecasting that we'll reach 80 by the end of the week...ohhh my, then it'll be too hot! Hehe! Turn on the a/c! No just kidding but seriously...that 80 is going to feel pretty hot coming out of all the colder temps of last week!
Have a marvelous Monday, Sweetie!
Love ya,
Chari

I'm a bad visitor today. I was packing up for the lake early this morning and we were driving down, this afternoon. Then I took a nap!!!!
I saw your comment about the chairs. The rocker is indeed a childsized chair.

Who would have thought disc spacers could look so pretty? Well, I guess Sally would have! If you had shown them as candle holders first, I would never have know what they were. Great job. laurie
