Once again, it is Metamorphosis Monday hosted by Susan
at Between Naps on the Porch when everyone shows off their before and after pictures. Be sure to go by Susan's to check for a list of the participants.
This week I would like to show an update project on our 1980s house. We were beginning to have some problems with our ceiling light fixtures, and decided it was time to update. Of course, one thing led to another so we decided to change out all of the door knob sets to match the new light fixtures.
Here are the old 1980 brass door knobs.

Here are the old 1980 brass door knobs.
We replaced the ceiling-mount fixture over our meat block in the kitchen with a new three-light chandelier.
Individually, the change out didn't give us a lot of bang for our buck; but over all of the house, it was updated considerably. And we feel much safer with our new light fixtures!
Now, a metamorphosis of the best kind. I have posted before about my daughter's battle with the worst kind of brain cancer - a stage 4 glioblastoma. Some of you may remember this picture of her really bad hair day while she was still in ICU. At this point, they were giving this 33-year old mother of two young ones only 12-14 months to live.

This week she celebrates her three-year survival anniversary. She had a MRI last week, and it was all clear of the tumor once again.
I'm posting about this again because I know there are those of you that are dealing with some serious health issues. I want to let you know to keep praying and to keep your spirits up. There are miracles out there - maybe one with your or your loved ones name on it!!!!

Hello my friend...
Ohhh my...I'm playing catch-up with the posts I've missed over here at your place! So sorry that I missed them!!!
Well...I just loved seeing the photos of your lovely daughter...she looks absolutely radiant in that last photo!!! I'm so very happy for her and your family...Praise the Lord for her 3 yr. anniversary of being cancer free!!! It just brings me to tears really...happy one's, Sweetie!!!
Sally, I love all of the changes that you've made...love all of the bronze fixtures, door knobs, etc! Very nice upgrades!!! I think that this is the first photo that I've seen of your kitchen...it's beautiful, my friend!!! In fact, your kitchen cabinets are exactly what I want for my little kitchen! I love the shape of the upper cabinet doors and the glass fronts!!! So pretty! When Russell remodeled and our home (this was before me)...it had those metal cabinets that were popular in the 50's...they are immaculate and in perfect condition...the style is just not me! But I'm content till we can remodel our kitchen! But when we do...I'm getting cabinets just like yours, my friend!
Oh my, I just realized that I'm yak..yak..yakkin'!
Love ya,
Chari
