PORCH UPDATE

I've shown my porch to you before, but this is the first time I've joined in on Rhondi's porch party. Be sure to check Rhondi's blog - Rose Colored Glasses for a list of all of the other participants with their great porches.

Finally, our screened-in porch is ready for the summer. We've had such a late and wet spring in Colorado that it seemed like we would never have a usable porch.

A few minor changes were made this year. The old rug was well past it's prime, and has been replaced with a new rectangular braided rug. It was a great bargain online - the shipping was even free.

We moved some of the furniture around to make it more conversational friendly. I love our old hand-made twig table. It reminds me of the furniture in the mountain cabins of my youth - the kind that you can put your feet up on.

I made some new pillows from Sunbrella fabric - no more fading hopefully!

Now, we just need some time to enjoy the porch.

Thanks for stopping by our porch - hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Sally

Your porch is so lovely. I noticed you have a "chicken crate" on your shelf! So neat...I have one too. When I was a child I would sit in it and pretend it was a toy car! By the way. I love the irises on your blog header. I need to find some that color to plant! xorachel

What an elegant porch!
I've never bought the Sunbrell fabric - I'll have to give it a try.

The mixture of the Adirondack style furniture and the wicker is great. This must be a wonderful haven for you.

I love your porch. It feels like a room. And the twig table is great! I am so glad that you joined my party. I think I will just linger her for awhile longer and rest up. It's very tiring visiting all these porches!

Hi, Sally, thanks for taking a walk thru my tiny garden.
We lived for awhile in Colorado, a couple of different times. Bill worked for commercial construction and before our kids got older, we would go with him. We lived awhile in Montrose and awhile in Rye, just outside of Publeo (sp?). We miss it and are thinking of planning a short trip back there this summer sometime.
We went to Durango a couple of yrs ago with daughter and family and rode the train again. Oh, yes, we lived in Cortez for a short time once, too.
whew...don't know how I got started on all this!! lol
have a good evening

What a great idea to buy sunfabric and make pillows - the way you put the fabric together, it almost looks like a quilt. CLEVER! Love your coffeetable - and the cabinet - and the colors... oh, everything is perfect!
