OUR CHRISTMAS MANTEL

It's not technically a mantel, because we don't have a fireplace. But, this is our substitute -- the cupboard with sliding doors that holds the living room TV.
Using the red plaid ribbon that I bought at Nell Hill's in Kansas City for inspiration, I went to nature for this year's Christmas decoration.
The candle holders are disc spacers from the farm salvage yard, contrasting with the elegance of 19th century brown transferware.

I'm joining all of the Christmas mantel parties going on this week in blogland - check them out for inspiration!

It all looks so good. Now I'll never look at a disc with out thinking of your wonderful candle holders. Wonder if my brother has any around the farm...? You should come out here sometime and look at the few pieces of old beet equipment and see what could be salvaged for the house. I always have creepy old men asking if I want to get rid of it, but I'm not ready for that yet. Have a nice week.♥♫

Your TV cabinet makes a great substitute for a mantel. Great idea for candle sticks. Love your nature additions as part of your display!

I would have never known it wasn't a mantel! My first thought was "how cool, she has a little dish cupboard on top of her mantel". I love your display, it's very pretty. I don't have a mantel either, I just made do with a dresser! Have a Merry Christmas!
