My farm roots kicked in today while decorating our Hoosier cabinet for Christmas -- crocks and stoneware mixing bowls from the farm.
The three rolling pins in my Grandmother's milk pail belonged to my two grandmothers and a great-aunt. The rolling pin on the shelf was my mother's.
The tin spice containers date from the 1930s - 1950s.
A plaid recipe box and child's school Thermos.
A Santa in a plaid coat!
Memories from life on the farm. Well, I didn't actually see a Santa with a plaid coat -- well, maybe I did -- my Dad had a red and black checked wool jacket. Who knows?

I spent my childhood and teen years growing up on a family farm. This post is beautiful. It makes me kinda homesick! xo Diana
Oh Sally, I love your farm style! It is awesome that the rolling pins have family connections. Mine have all come from thrift and estate sales. except one red handled one under my tree was my first rolling pin as a new bride. Love your plaids and the Santa in the plaid coat is so unique.
Hugs,
Jann
Omg.....I have a rolling pin and green bowl collection. I love it.
You have got some incredible things you've inherited from family. Those are most precious to treasure for always. How I envy you the hoosier. You did a wonderful job decorating it farm style. Love the bowls.
I have a thing for bowls, especially
ones like yours. I'd so love to have a hoosier again. I'd take out an upper and lower cupboard to have room for it. We sold ours when we got here to help pay for some things when we bought our place. Could kick myself now. Love your rolling pins too.
I love your farm style vignette. Plaid is a favorite and this blends it so well on the hoosier! hugs, Linda
Tradition, memories, family heirlooms, farmhouse style--You've got it all! Wonderful Post!
Christmas Blessings,

I LOVE it!! Everything about your country farm style is perfect! Thanks for sharing :)

hahhhaaa...I love this cute post, Sally. Bet that man in the red and black plaid coat FELT like a Santa Clause. :))
I love your decorating here. So farm and country and WARM. I can remember, a loooong time back, that we only had red berries and greenery we could pick, for our decorations.
My mother could make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and she always made everything so pretty...even tho we didn't have much.
and now I am missing my mother and crying and have to stop.....
Love, bj
You know I absolutely love this! Beautiful post, Sally!

Being raised in High Rise city Buildings and normal houses next to another house..in busy cities I used to dream of living on a farm.. yes city life is wonderful but after years of it I've had enough.. now I'm in the burgs of a busy city and this is worse..lol
Love your grandmothers rolling pins.. how nice to have all their things from the past..
Happy Holidays
Sandy
What a great collection of treasures!
The rolling pins touch my heart. I have to check my Mom's kitchen and see if hers is still there. She doesn't bake anymore. My husband grew up on a dairy farm but I haven't seen any good treasures around there like yours!
Beautiful! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home and have a Merry Christmas!
